Sebagai siswa yang baik, pendidikan tentu menjadi prioritas utama, namun apabila jadwal sekolah berbenturan dengan berbagai macam kesibukan di luar sekolah, bukan pendidikan yang diabaikan, tapi perlu jalan keluar yang lebih bijak. Hal inilah yang mendasari dance leader SHINee ini terpaksa pindah dari sekolah lamanya ke SMU Khusus Seni (Arts High School). Hal ini telah dikonfirmasi pihak SM Entertainment sendiri melalui Newsen.
Sebelumnya, pada tanggal 2 Maret 2011 lalu, seorang juru bicara menyangkal berita yang menyatakan bahwa Taemin dikeluarkan dari sekolah karena masalah absesnsi. "Taemin memang merencanakan keluar dari sekolah atas kehendak pribadi. Jika dia bermasalah dengan absennya dia akan dikeluarkan dari dulu," begitu sang juru bicara menyatakan aspirasinya melalui DailySPN. Kepindahan dancing machine ini ke sekolah khusus seni memang murni agar maknae itu bisa berkonsentrasi pada karir tanpa harus diresahkan padatnya jadwal yang ia miliki. Apapun keputusan maknae kita, kita doakan saja yang terbaik. Sekolah lancar, karir lancar ^^

SHINee’s maknae Taemin will be transferring into an arts high school in order to better accommodate his hectic schedule.
On March 2nd, a representative of SM Entertainment spoke with Newsen and revealed, “SHINee’s Taemin will be leaving Chung Dam High School to attend an arts high school.”
Taemin, who will be entering his senior year this year, has decided to transfer in order to focus on his schedule for SHINee’s Japanese advancement.
The decision came about because his career commitments made it difficult for him to meet the required attendance figure for Chung Dam High School.

Amidst recent reports that SHINee’s Taemin is leaving Chungdam High School due to problems fulfilling its attendance criteria, a spokesperson from the school has come forward to deny this, saying, “It is not true that his attendance is substandard.”
On the 2nd of March, through a phone call with EdailySPN, the spokesperson stated, “Although it has become generally known that Taemin is leaving school due to attendance problems, this is in fact different from the truth. If he had indeed failed to meet attendance expectations, he would of course have be dismissed from school. In this case though, he is leaving of his own accord.”
Prior to this, Taemin was caught up in a controversy when the subject of his leaving school was reported by the media.
Currently in his third year, Taemin is transferring to an arts school in order to better accommodate his promotion schedule with idol group SHINee.
